Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 7, 2026

This policy explains how Speedtype, created and operated by Saurabh, handles information when you use speedtypeapp.com. Questions and data requests can be sent toappspeedtype@gmail.com.

1. Using Speedtype without an account

Practice and Race can be used without signing in. The browser stores settings such as theme, language, and difficulty, together with completed run history, in local storage on that device. Unsigned runs are not sent to Speedtype cloud history. You can remove local data by clearing site data in your browser.

2. Account sign-in and cloud features

Speedtype uses Firebase Authentication for Google sign-in and email/password accounts. Firebase provides an account identifier and email address. Google may also provide a display name and profile photo when you choose Google sign-in. Speedtype does not receive your Google password or directly store an account password.

Signed-in features may store typing-run results, Daily activity, and private multiplayer-room data in Firebase. A run can include mode, language, difficulty, duration, WPM, accuracy, errors, date, and the practice text. Personal history is not presented as a public global leaderboard.

3. Feedback and contact messages

The Feedback form prepares a message in your email application. Category, area, optional rating, optional contact details, and message text remain in your browser until the draft opens. Speedtype does not receive or store those fields unless you send the email. Your email provider and the recipient's email provider then process the message according to their own policies.

Public display is optional. If you select the publication checkbox and send the email, Speedtype may publish a reviewed excerpt together with the rating, category, area, and display name you provided. If no name is provided, the excerpt is attributed to an anonymous user. Reply email addresses are never displayed publicly. You can ask for a published excerpt to be corrected or removed by emailing appspeedtype@gmail.com.

4. Analytics and advertising status

Advertising units and advertising scripts are disabled while Speedtype is being prepared for publisher review. The AdSense ownership meta tag and ads.txt authorization file may remain present; they do not display an advertisement.

Optional analytics and advertising must not be activated until an appropriate consent flow is configured. If these services are enabled later, this policy and its review date will be updated before activation. Essential browser storage used for app settings and run history is separate from advertising personalization.

5. Service providers

  • Google Firebase: authentication, cloud database, real-time rooms, and application security checks. reCAPTCHA Enterprise is requested when an account or protected cloud action needs an App Check token, rather than on ordinary public-page visits.
  • Firebase Hosting: delivery of the website and standard hosting request logs.
  • Google: the identity provider when you choose Google sign-in.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy documentation. Speedtype does not sell personal information.

6. Retention and deletion

Local data remains until you clear it. Cloud data remains while the account and related feature data are maintained. To request access, correction, or deletion of identifiable cloud data, email appspeedtype@gmail.com from the address associated with the account. Identity may need to be verified before a request is completed.

7. Children

Speedtype is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact the operator so the report can be investigated.

8. Security and changes

Speedtype uses HTTPS, Firebase security rules, authentication controls, and application checks where configured. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Material policy changes will be shown by updating the date at the top of this page.
